David Byrne Calls Out U2: World Tour 'Overkill... Out of Balance Given All The Starving People in Africa'...
Those stadium shows may possibly be the most extravagant and expensive (production-wise) ever: $40 million to build the stage and, having done the math, we estimate 200 semi trucks crisscrossing Europe for the duration. It could be professional envy speaking here, but it sure looks like, well, overkill, and just a wee bit out of balance given all the starving people in Africa and all. Or maybe it’s the fact that we were booted off our Letterman spot so U2 could keep their exclusive week-long run that’s making me less than charitable? Take your pick — but thanks, guys!

U2 Still sucks ass
One question. Is U2 going to do an instrumental album anytime soon?
Last check confirms that Bono's douchiness is well over 9 Courics.. we all know that he IS the biggest douche/turd in the world... his touring rigs have to carry his ego.. and holiness...
Bono is a hypocrite. I hear the stage is built entirely of false hope and on the backs of those he uses to further his shameless self promotion. If he wants to go by one name it should be "Douche" or perhaps, "O' Douche" you know, cuz they're Irish.
while i like David's music, he reveals himself to be a bit of a jealous prick here. he only wishes Talking Heads never broke up. so instead he's being a baby because he got bumped off Letterman. grow up. while the 360-Tour could be more eco-friendly, did David even stop to think how many people have a job right now because of this tour? how many people can still keep a roof over their heads?
sure, it's easy to poke fun at these guys because they're out in front. always have been. but donating a lot of money to music education, HIV-Aids research, building wells and schools in Africa and helping to get support for pharmaceuticals seems like a larger contribution than Mr.Byrne setting up designer bicycle racks in New York.
Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's a decent contribution. Just get over your hurt feelings David. I didn't know you were so passive-aggressive.
I wish I could say U2 was keeping a roof over my head instead of a dick in my mouth/ears
um oldmanbyrne is a cock bag. yeah bono is totally better than david byrne, hold on lemme puke my pants. U2 has been ripping stupid people off with the same three chords with the same retarded lyrics about emotional yet political nothing.
anyone who defends a millionaire/billionaire is retarded, especially an untalented one.
I like both U2 and Byrne, and whatever you want to say about Bono, at least his ego wasn't so huge that he decided to break up his band and go solo.
@MikeH
On the other hand, at least David Byrne had the sense to quit before his band started to release a never-ending string of mediocre garbage.
U2 sucks and it has already been confirmed that Bono is the biggest turd in the world.
I think St. Bono should give everything he has to the poor and wear sack cloth and ashes ;practice what he preaches.
Dave, take me to the river.....
If Bono spent more time working on his music rather than touring around playing the same old sh*t, perhaps he wouldn't have to put on a huge expensive spectacle of a concert to make people want to see him.
I can get a thrill just listening to David Bryne at home.
