Depeche Mode's Dave Gahan Suffering From 'Severe Gastroenteritis'... Cancelling More Shows...
CBC:
Illness has scuttled further Depeche Mode concerts, according to an update from the British electro-pop band.
Concerts in Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia and Croatia have been postponed because of further medical tests for ailing singer Dave Gahan.
The decision was made “due to further complications from [Gahan’s] severe bout of gastroenteritis,” according to a statement Thursday on the Depeche Mode website.
However, the concerts could still be rescheduled for later dates, so event organizers are urging fans to retain their tickets.
The popular band has been on a world tour in support of its recently released 12th album, Sounds of the Universe.
Shortly before taking the stage in Athens on Tuesday, the 47-year-old Gahan was rushed to hospital and fans sent home. A concert in Istanbul on Thursday was also postponed.
