The fire, which allegedly started in the living room and occurred while the place was free of inhabitants, was first reported by a passerby who phoned 911. By the time the water arrived, flames were blasting the roof. It wasn’t long after they settled that both the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department and Rochester Hills Fire Department decided on probable arson.
