Headlines

The festival kicks off with a performance on Saturday 13 June from The Roots with Oakland jazzer David Murray. Murray will play a headline show that same night with his band the Gwo-Ka Masters and support from Jamaaladeen Tacuma. Yoko Ono reactivates her Plastic Ono Band for a set on Sunday 14 June, with an array of guests promised, including Sean Lennon and Cornelius. Perennially popular Senegalese singer/songwriter Baba Maal plays on Monday 15 June, as do US indie-rock heroes Yo La Tengo (playing an acoustic set under the banner of ‘The Freewheeling Yo La Tengo’). Mega-selling baldie Moby will play on Tuesday 16 June, proving that even genius jazz icons don’t have infallible taste, while Bobby McFerrin – the man behind, er, ‘Don’t Worry Be Happy’ – will bring his legendary vocal improv skills to town Wednesday 17.
