UPDATE: Check out our full Daft Punk Alive 2007 coverage.
Daft Punk kicked off the US leg of their Alive 2007 tour Saturday night at the Los Angeles Sports Arena, and the early word sounds every bit as exciting as we had hoped and hyped.
The Daily Swarm reader TCR wrote us last night:
Last night has to be one of my all-time favorite moments in music…It was, simultaneously, vindication from all those who suggested that electronic music doesn’t have a viable audience and a paradigm shift for a new era of artists/producers. I can’t wait to hear what that inspired kid went home and made/came up with last night/this morning…. next week, etc.
Or, as LAist wrote:
…a performance that had the energy and emotion of a religious experience, not only living up to the hype, but shattering my concepts of how amazing a live performance by an electronic music act could be….This was truly one of the best shows I have ever seen and I will never forget it. If you are reading this from another city on the current tour, I suggest that you beg, borrow, and steal to get there….
And yes, we have more than one eyewitness: they really were there.

Here’s a little sneak preview video, though you might not want to watch if you’ve got tickets for one of the remaining shows.
