UPDATE: Check out our full Daft Punk Alive 2007 coverage.

Earlier this month, Kanye West talked to MTV about working with Hype Williams on two new videos for his forthcoming Graduation album. “We shot nine days,” he said. “We were out in Japan, we were out in the desert. We’re taking it serious.”

Today, the Daily Swarm confirmed with a rep for Williams’ production company that Kanye’s co-stars in one of the two clips are French house music legends Daft Punk. The video is for a new track called “Stronger” that features West rapping over Daft Punk’s song “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger” from duo’s 2001 album Discovery. The video was shot in a desert area outside of Los Angeles in April, and prominently features Daft Punk’s iconic robots in a co-starring role. West debuted “Stronger” at a performance in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in April and again earlier this month at the Hiro Ballroom in New York.

2007 is going to be a busy year for both Kanye West and Daft Punk.

West’s third album, Graduation, is tentatively scheduled for a September 18 release. “Can’t Tell Me Nothing,” a track from the record featuring Young Jeezy, recently leaked onto the internet. Reports also mention a collaboration with Coldplay’s Chris Martin on the album’s title track, and “The Glory,” a song West originally conceived for rapper Common. West recently announced to MTV that his fall tour will be entitled “Glow in the Dark” and that he is working with choreographer Jamie King (Madonna, Christina Aguilera) on a futuristic themed production. West has also enlisted the services of legendary Japanese designer Takashi Murakami, who created the cover for “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” as well as directing a three-minute animated piece for one of the songs on Graduation.

Daft Punk, who returned from a long hiatus with an over-the-top performance at 2006’s Coachella Festival, are currently in Los Angeles putting the finishing touches on an all-new live show which will debut at a festival in Scotland on June 10. The Alive 2007 tour currently includes stops in the U.K, Germany, France, Holland, Italy, and North America. The U.S. leg of the tour kicks off with a sold out show in Los Angeles at the L.A. Sports Arena which will be recorded for a future DVD release.

Daft Punk also directed their first feature film, Electroma, a wordless movie that made its international debut at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival and is currently having a sold-out run of midnight screenings in Paris. The film tells the story of two robots (played by Peter Hurteau and Michael Reich) who journey across a mythic American landscape of haunting, surreal beauty on a quest to become human. Electroma will screen in select North American theaters this summer prior to its DVD release on Vice Records in the fall.
